Where is Grand Prix Gate 10 in St Kilda?
Gate 10 is the St Kilda gate, not the CBD gates. It sits at Fitzroy Street and Village Green Drive, with scooter parking listed at Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive. Taxi ranks are listed at Gate 10 on Fitzroy Street. Bicycle valet has run at Gate 10 in previous years, supervised from 30 minutes before gates open until 30 minutes after close. Confirm 2027 gate hours on the official getting here page. The 2026 pattern was Thursday 9am to 8pm at Gate 10, then 8am to 8pm Friday through Sunday. Treat that as last year's clock until AGPC publishes 2027 times.
The 2026 event drew 483,934 people through Albert Park. 2027 adds a Sprint race, which changes Saturday's crush. Do not use a 2026 session grid as a 2027 timetable.
St Kilda side of the circuit
- Funnel: Fitzroy Street from St Kilda Road to The Esplanade, walking toward Gate 10.
- Tow-away or resident-only: Middle Park streets around the lake. AGPC and Port Phillip run a restricted parking zone for the four-day event.
- Do not join: Canterbury Road and Beaconsfield Parade overflow.
- Acland Street stays the cake strip. Taxis cannot wait there during sessions.
- From Thursday of race week, Fitzroy Street bars fill. Use the Fitzroy Street hub.
- Confirm session times on grandprix.com.au. Night sessions and the Sprint change the last tram crush.
- Tram 16 or 12 to Fitzroy Street. Balaclava station plus tram 16 if you came by Sandringham line.
- Walk to Gate 10 at Village Green Drive. Do not search for circuit parking. There is none.
There is no public circuit parking. Official getting-here copy is in capitals for a reason. Temporary restrictions cover Middle Park and Albert Park. A car left near Gate 10 will be towed. Resident permits do not beat a tow-away sign. Permit rules: parking permits.
Can I park at the Australian Grand Prix?
No. AGPC's getting-here page states there is no public parking available at the circuit. Port Phillip implements a restricted parking zone around Middle Park and Albert Park for the four race days. In 2026 that meant 4P and unrestricted zones tightened, and 2P or permit zones that normally skip Sunday were extended across the weekend. Loading zones, clearways, and disabled bays were not modified. 2027 will publish its own map. Read that map, not a forum pin.
Rideshare drop-off has used dedicated bays at Gate 10. Neuron and Lime have had a dedicated zone at the corner of Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive. Do not dump a scooter in a resident bay. Helipad access near Gate 10 is a corporate product, not a public arrival.
Which tram goes to Gate 10?
Tram 16 and tram 12 to Fitzroy Street. Tram 96 is the Acland / stop 138 tram and is often shortened toward Middle Park on race days. Where should I eat after a session?
Fitzroy Street is the conversion surface. The Espy is one block over if you walked to the beach end. Acland cakes are a walk south if the session finishes before the cabinets close. Do not book a 1pm Jacka Boulevard lunch for a Saturday Sprint unless you like walking out on a tasting menu. Pride March uses the same Fitzroy Street funnel in late January. Festival uses a larger tow-away precinct in February. Those are different weekends: Pride March and St Kilda Festival.
