- Sunday 21 February: Big Festival Sunday across the foreshore, Acland Street, and Lower Esplanade.

In 2026 the same format ran 14 and 15 February and drew about 360,000 people. The 2027 site is already pointing at 20 to 21 February. Lineup drops later. - Myki on tram 96 or 16. Get off one stop early if the last stop is a crush. Festival days often shorten route 96 to stop 132.
- Use official Festival maps for toilets, Changing Places, Auslan stages, water, and the quiet space.
- Eat on Acland or The Esplanade if you can reach them. Book sit-down rooms weeks ahead, not on Sunday.
The precinct becomes tow-away on Festival Sunday. A resident parking permit does not beat that sign. Fitzroy Street, Acland Street, Lower Esplanade, and Jacka Boulevard close. Taxis and rideshare are geo-blocked inside the closure. Food delivery is banned in full-closure streets. Do not leave a car inside the zone.
Can I park at the St Kilda Festival?
Not in the precinct. The 2026 Area E resident letter is the pattern until 2027 letters drop in January. Full and partial closures ran 3am Sunday to 1am Monday. Vehicles inside the precinct were relocated to the Marine Parade carpark. Retrieval: 03 9209 6306. Residents inside Area E needed a Vehicle Access Pass displayed on the car, with the only access point via the Beaconsfield Parade checkpoint (Kerferd Road or side streets onto Beaconsfield Parade south of Kerferd and north of Cowderoy). Extra passes: skfaccred@portphillip.vic.gov.au. That Festival pass is not your annual Port Phillip parking permit. Permit products: parking permits.
2026 full closures included Fitzroy Street between Grey Street and The Esplanade, The Esplanade between Fitzroy and Carlisle, Lower Esplanade, Acland between Carlisle and Belford, Cavell Street, Shakespeare Grove between Acland and Chaucer, and Jacka Boulevard between Acland and Cavell. Blessington Street carpark closed. Lower Esplanade was closed Saturday and Sunday. Temporary taxi and rideshare ranks sat at Beaconsfield Parade at Catani, Fitzroy Street north of Lakeside Drive, and Marine Parade south of Shakespeare Grove. eBikes and eScooters were unpowered inside the precinct. Getting there when the suburb is closed
Tram 96 and 16 still run and are the correct answer. They are crowded and often shortened. The 2025 PTV notice ran route 96 only between East Brunswick and stop 132 St Kilda Station, with 16a and 3a cutting back near Luna Park. That pattern recurs. Food, toilets, and the market
Festival stalls cover the foreshore. Acland Street shops stay open if you can reach them. The Esplanade Market is closed that Sunday. Use the Esplanade hub and Acland Street hub for live listings. The precinct is a dry zone. Glass is not permitted in public places. Alcohol is only inside designated licensed areas. Public toilets and a Changing Places facility sit at St Kilda Life Saving Club. There are also toilets next to Donovans. Official maps mark toilets, water, first aid, police, information, and lost children. Use the map, not a guess.
