Waste stations sit on the foreshore and in the parks. Carry bags anyway. Most parks are dawn to dusk. Vaccinations matter at fenced runs. Cafe etiquette: Leash, water, shade, no table scraps unless the kitchen says yes. Peak Saturday brunch is the worst time to test a reactive dog. Cowderoys on a weekday morning is the better first try.

Where are vets, groomers, and supplies?
St Kilda and neighbouring Windsor / Balaclava hold day clinics. After-hours vet is clinic-by-clinic. Do not assume 24-hour on Acland Street. Search a current emergency clinic before you need one, then save the number. Groomers book out before summer. Pet supply is on Barkly, Carlisle, and Chapel rather than the foreshore kiosks. Which walks work with a dog?
St Kilda Foreshore Promenade is about 3.5 km of sealed path. Keep off banned sand and off the pier. Albert Park Lake is about 5 km if you want a full loop away from the bay. Elwood path continues south. Catani Gardens is a short 1.2 km. Botanical Gardens path is under 1 km and mostly on-lead outside the fenced yard. Summer: early morning or late evening.
