Does a Luna Park entry ticket cover Luna Dark?
No. The park's own ticket table states that $30 park-entry tickets are sold only at the ticket box, and that park entry is not valid for special events such as Luna Dark, Luna Love, or Luna Pride. Unlimited ride passes lock a date for a normal park day. They are a different SKU from a themed-night ticket. Read the product name on the confirmation email before you travel.
The tickets and hours page covers park-entry and unlimited rides. This page is the night calendar. Themed events change queues, dress codes, last rides, and whether the Scenic Railway even runs the same hours as a Sunday in January. Do not assume a term-time 6pm close.

Park-entry-only tickets sold at the door do not cover Luna Dark, Luna Pride, or Luna Love. Annual pass holders must still buy Luna Dark tickets. Staff have the last word on costumes and props. Unsafe items can be stored or refused.
When is Luna Dark, and what is actually included?
Luna Dark 2026 is the Halloween run. The park lists Saturday 31 October and describes six night sessions plus four youngster-friendly day sessions. Night sessions run 6pm to midnight with scare attractions, live entertainment, and roaming performers. Day sessions run 11am to 5pm and do not include the full night scare houses. Pre-purchase is required. Capacity is limited.
Night-only products named on the 2026 page include Carnival of Screams (haunted house) and Extreme Phobia (darkness maze). The Haunted Spirits Bar is 18 plus and RSA-compliant. Unlimited rides still run during the event window. Day sessions keep the Wizz Fizz Pumpkin Patch at a lower scare factor. Confirm which session you bought. A day ticket is not a night ticket.
Annual pass holders do not enter Luna Dark free. The 2026 FAQ says they must purchase Luna Dark tickets, with 20 percent off day sessions through the Annual Pass portal. That discount is not a night-session freebie. Refresh this page T-6 weeks before the run because dates and inclusions move.
What costumes and props are banned?
Official Luna Dark FAQs set the costume rules. Costumes must be safe and family-friendly for a 14 plus night crowd. Masks and face coverings must come off when staff ask. Dripping blood makeup is out. Costumes wider than about 1 metre, props longer than 1.5 metres, stilts, skates, scooters, drones, and balloons are banned. Real, replica, or metal weapons are banned. Foam, plastic, or lightweight timber props go through Guest Relations first. Toy guns must be brightly coloured and unloaded. Lightsabers yes. Duels no. If you are unsure, check the full costume policy on the park site before you sew.
What about Luna Pride and Luna Love?
Those dates move. Luna Pride 2026 ran Saturday 13 June, 6pm to 11pm, as an all-ages Pride night with unlimited rides. Listed ticket bands sat around $59 to $69 on third-party calendars. Buy only on lunapark.com.au. Luna Love is the Valentine night. In 2026 it ran Saturday 14 February. Annual passes were not valid. Treat those prices as last year's band, not a 2027 quote. The product rule does not move: you need the named event ticket.
Birthday parties, school activity weeks, and private hires of Luna Palace are a different sales desk. They are not Dark, Pride, or Love. Do not mix a function booking with a public event ticket.
How do I get there on a night event?
Stop 138 is still the stop. Parking is Port Phillip paid parking around the park, on Jacka Boulevard at the Palais, and undercover at Sea Baths. Check Sea Baths closing times. Accessible bays sit on Cavell Street and at both ends of the Shakespeare Grove car park. Category 1 blue disability permits are exempt from council parking fees in those council areas. Where do I eat after a Luna Park night event?
Use restaurants near Luna Park, the Acland Street hub, and the Esplanade hub. Cake cabinets can already be shut after a midnight Dark close. The Espy is the late-drink answer. Pre-show Palais dinners are a different sitting and live on dinner before Palais Theatre.
